The European Coin Find Network 

ECFN is a cooperation between institutions engaged in researching and recording coin finds from Europe with the aim of encouraging cooperation and dialogue between them. The network is coordinated by the Römisch-Germanische Kommission (RGK) des Deutschen Archäologischen Instituts (DAI).

Finding the Past: Twenty Years of EMC

A one-day conference at the Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge
Saturday 7 October 2017

Since 1997 the Fitzwilliam Museum has hosted the online Corpus of Early Medieval Coin Finds (EMC), which has recorded nearly 12,000 finds of coins dated between 410 and 1180. EMC is an essential source of information for archaeologists, historians, detectorists, and anyone interested in medieval coin finds. This conference will explore discoveries that have been made using EMC, and prospects for future work on coin finds.

A new cooperative numismatic project in Baden-Württemberg, Germany helps strengthen the recording and study of coin finds

The project, which is financed by the Ministry for Science and Art of the State of Baden-Württemberg, aims to strengthen and sustain numismatics as an academic discipline. The partners within further numismatics within Baden-Württemberg at the levels of "Teaching and dissemination", "Joint research", "Numismatic collections", "Coin finds" and "Knowledge transfer".

5th joint meeting of ECFN and Nomisma.org

NUMIS is back online!

Following the move of the national coin collection to the Dutch National Bank, the Dutch online coin-find database, NUMIS, is now back online. The database holds records on some 275,000 coin finds of all periods from The Netherlands, of which almost 55.000 are online, and is still growing.
